news updates

A quick update as news has been thin on the ground of late. Over recent months Steve has contributed to Scottish and Portuguese singer/songwriter projects as well arranging and producing music for Alice in Italy. Most recently Steve has completed mixing 4 Dali's Car tracks that are pending release later in the year. In the meantime new material with David Sylvian is being developed as well as solo material but as yet there are no schedules for finalising or releasing new works. The live performance in Tokyo last December is potentially being developed as a visual work to be available in download form.

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of mick karn after his battle with cancer.

Several months after having been diagnosed with terminal cancer mick finally succumbed to the illness at 4.30pm on 4th Januray 2011 at his residence in Chelsea, London. He is survived by his wife Kyoko, and his son Metis. May his suffering be at an end, may he find eternal peace. Donations may still be made in support of his family here

Jansen Harajuku Performance 23.12.2010 UPDATE

Due to poor whether conditions in the UK causing flight disruptions and airport closures Steve has been unable to attend the Harajuku Performance event in Tokyo. There will be a movie screening as planned for the event and it will contain new soundtrack compositions by Steve however there will be no 'live' element to the show. Steve extends his personal apologies to all those with tickets hoping to see a live performance:

"due to circumstances beyond my control, and much to my personal disappointment, I have not been able to attend the Harajuku Performance as intended. I do hope those of you who have tickets will still enjoy the screening of the collaborative work between Shoko Ise and myself despite the fact that there will be no live element. Shoko and I have worked hard to bring the project together in a short time and were looking forward to appearing together onstage to represent the work and interact in a live capacity.

jansen sound design elements for blackberry torch and OS6

the new blackberry torch released in the US this month features sound design elements created by steve. key elements include ringtone themes 'zen' and 'zen spirit' (said to be default ringtone on non at&t models out later this month), and alarm compositions 'tokyo morning' and 'morning blues'.
